Paid Content Distribution - What You Need To Know

Michael Gingrich
Head of Sales

Paid content distribution is the marketers bread and butter and it’s a very important part of generating traffic. The most successful platforms for distributing content that I’ve found are Quora, Instagram stories ads, Linked in, Messenger Ads,and Sponsorships from a company or influencer.

Quora ads

Quora implemented its self-service ad platform back in 2017. For marketers in Business to Business firms (B2B) Quora can be a very insightful and powerful tool. Quora has turned into an amazing resource for companies and civilians alike and has become the go to resource for questions and guidance. The platform is highly engaging and attracts a very broad yet high quality audience.

With Quora, you can zone in on your ads audience and placement by topic. Placing ads about relevant topics, you can attract an enormous amount of traffic.

Instagram Stories ads

Using Instagram stories ads is very useful to promote and tease content through one of the most popular and trending platforms. It doesn’t matter the format; you’ll be able to reuse it within an Instagram story.

Stories ads are immersive. When viewing, your creative content won’t be sharing space with anything else, so the viewer's attention will be locked in on your ad.

Instagram advertising has gotten far easier over the past few years, as the platform has grown and changed.

LinkedIn Sponsored Messages

Linkedin Sponsored Messages (formerly “Sponsored In Mail”) Allows you to send a direct message to a LinkedIn member who you’re not connected with. Being able to reach out to people who you otherwise wouldn’t be able to is a very useful tactic. This is perfect for driving B2B leads and draws people's attention from many different areas who otherwise would have had to rely on chance to come across your services. The beauty of LinkedIn sponsored messages is the experience for the recipient.  It is far more like receiving an email than it is receiving an ad, which gives it a more personal feeling is a net positive for the sender.

Targeting potential clients with Sponsored Messages is very exciting especially when you take into account the data you can use like company industry, skills or job function.

With all of these strategies, Sponsored Messages can be quite effective for promoting to your audience.

Messenger Ads

1.3 Billion people use fb messenger EACH MONTH and they send 8 Billion Messages a day!

So if your audience is on Facebook they are more than likely using messenger. You can use Messenger ads to soak up more attention to more effectively target your business.  FB messenger marketing has 10-80 times better engagement than email and organic posts on the fb newsfeed.  You can also utilize Messenger BOTS which can receive higher percentage open rates and clicks.

Sponsorships

A more direct way of marketing your social media is by going straight to a creator with a large audience. Developing a partnership and deciding where and when your brand is promoted can give you a giant boost with less of a headache when it comes to finding capital.

Sponsorships can be more efficient than using different ad platforms as you can go directly to a content creator with a large and engaged audience.

Think about major podcasts or youtube videos.  They all either begin their content plugging a service or end up taking breaks in the middle to share ads for something.  Channels are difficult to monetize so sponsorship takes a lot of the headache away that comes from costs.  And because it’s basically a partnership, you’re developing a solid association with that creator's audience.

A similar strategy would be used for Influencer Marketplaces and Networks.

Standout content

With the never-ending ocean of content sloshing about the internet, thinking outside the box and discovering new ways to spread your ideas is important for getting noticed. Try testing out new concepts and implementing the lists above. Trying something once and it not working out isn’t taking a Loss.  It’s Learning.  There's no such thing as failure, only feedback.
